Run Speed Performance (RSP) Youth Track Class is a dynamic and engaging program designed to help young athletes develop their skills in various track disciplines. Our academy offers expert coaching and event-specific training (racing) plans to help athletes reach their full potential.

Athletes in our program will receive specialized instruction in events such as sprints, middle distance, and distance running. Our experienced coaches will work closely with each athlete to improve their technique, strength, speed, and endurance.
Run Speed Performance (RSP) youth track academy focuses on developing youth athletes in sprints, middle distance, and distance races.

Youth Track Program

Developing youth track athletes requires a combination of specialized coaching, targeted training, and supportive environment. Here are key strategies we use to effectively develop young sprinters in track and field.

  1. Proper Technique: Focus on teaching young sprinters the fundamentals of sprinting technique, including proper running and sprint biomechanics, running and sprint efficiency, power, speed, turnover and stride length development.
  2. Strength and Conditioning: Implement a structured strength and conditioning program tailored to the needs of young sprinters. This can include exercises to improve leg strength, core stability, and overall power. Additionally, incorporate speed drills, plyometrics, and speed endurance drills/exercises to enhance sprinting performance.
  3. Speed Development: Training targets speed development, including short sprints, short hurdle drills to improve turnover rate, powerful acceleration and explosive starts; as well as improving stride frequency and maximum velocity through specific speed workouts.
  4. Race Strategy: Teach young sprinters how to race smart by developing effective race strategies. Help them understand pacing, curve running, and finishing strong. Practice race simulations and work on mental preparation to build confidence and composure during competition.
  5. Interval Training: Interval training is a key component of the sprinter training program as it targets specific energy systems, improves speed and power, enhances anaerobic endurance, enhances recovery, and time efficiency as a way for sprinters to achieve significant fitness gains in a shorter amount of time compared to traditional steady state.

Other Benefits:

  1. Goal Setting and Motivation: Set specific and achievable goals with athletes to track progress and maintain motivation. Celebrate successes, provide constructive feedback, and support their development both on and off the track.
  2. Enhanced Recovery: By incorporating recovery periods in interval training, athletes can improve their overall recovery time between intense training efforts. This helps reduce fatigue and allows athletes to perform at a high level throughout a race or training session.
  3. Mental Toughness: Training challenges athletes both physically and mentally. The intense nature of training of athletes helps build mental toughness, resilience, and focus, which are essential for competitions and training.
  4. Nutrition and Hydration: Educate young runners on the importance of proper nutrition, hydration, and recovery for optimal performance and endurance. Emphasize the role of balanced meals, hydration, pre-race fueling, and post-run recovery nutrition.

By implementing these strategies and creating a positive and supportive training environment. Run Speed Performance Training Academy can effectively develop youth track athletes in their respective events and help each athlete reach their full potential in the sport.
